Holland America – Eurodam

DSC01642Our most recent cruise was on Holland America’s Eurodam, sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, FL to the Turks and Caicos, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay, HAL’s private island.  What a beautiful ship it is!  I highly recommend both Holland America and this ship in particular.   The Eurodam is HAL’s newest ship; however, in July 2010, that will no longer be the case as the Niew Amsterdam begins sailing.

As with most cruises, you’ll never be bored and you’ll never go hungry on this ship!!  Activities on sea days are varied, including bingo and trivia games, digital workshops to teach you how to share your trip in photos and videos,  cooking demonstrations just like on the food channels in the Culinary Arts Center, daily movies, a magnificent spa, and a full range gym.  The extensive library provides reading materials and DVDs, and then there’s shopping, sunbathing, and lots of evening entertainment.   Of course, just relaxing on the deck or in one of the many lounges is always a fine option as well.

Restaurant choices are abundant as well – you can stick with the dining room or Lido buffets, or f0r a small extra fee, you have a choice of Italian at the Caneletto, steak at the popular Pinacle Grill, or pan-Asian fare at Tamarindo.  We sampled them all, you can’t go wrong with any!!

Beautiful ports, excellent service, delicious food, well appointed cabins, and loads of activities made it a week we won’t easily forget and one we look forward to repeating before long!  Enjoy this short video with glimpses of the ship and the ports, and if you can carve out a week to enjoy yourself, definitely consider this as an option!
